Does this count as an armoured personnel carrier?

:D

You guys are laughing, but using tractors makes/made sense. They are abundant all over the country and have mobility than civilian trucks on rough terrain. Being loan equipment they are free for the army. Options were walking, horse drawn, cycling, tractors and civilian trucks (which would have seen large use in logistics).

And current modern tractors can be used on various roles like opening roads, unloading containers etc.

Then (shame that it's difficult to find pictures, I think they were ashamed of their machines in the past for some reason...)

Now

Nowdays logistics is handled by trucks with hook loaders and these kind of tractors. Point is that they are using exactly same tech that is abundant in surrounding society. Few troop transports would be armored (think about the number of troops in land forces (180 000) vs number of apc's (~1000).

Forgive me if You were offended, that was not my goal. It was funny for me to name such a set (tractor and trailer) as an ARMORED personnel carrier.

Using tractors, especially in such difficult terrain conditions, makes perfect sense. They are also used in the Polish army, and mobilization plans also include borrowing them in times of danger from civilians. They are even made in Poland ... and like you, it's hard to find photos of them.

Below are some photos from Poland.

Oh, I wasn't a bit offended. I just wanted to expand on the topic a little bit. ;)

Because I also find the idea of riding a tractor to war to be funny,

Personally, I think there is nothing funny about going to war in a tractor. It simply tells the sad tale of our equipment. Or lack of equipment.

Now, a tractor is a vital part of any CSS or locistics unit, but no first line unit should go to war with them as their carriage.

And now for something completely different:
