Facebook, but viewable by everyone. On a side note, Moldovan parade uniforms are incredibly good looking. I'm usually not a fan of parade uniforms, but the Moldova's ones definitely struck a cord with me. US contingent looked positively drab, worst looking one.

Social campaign in Ukraine "Thanks to You". It encourages citizens to place their hand on the heart when they see a Ukrainian serviceman or servicewoman.

Link to the parade on YouTube. I skipped all the ceremonies, and put it on the time stamp when the parade columns started moving.

Folks were camping overnight to get the best spots. Never heard of something like this before in Ukraine.

Lots of photos inside the article. Today, Ukraine honors the memory of the fallen military and security forces personnel. On August 29th, 2014, Russian forces opened fire on the Ukrainian troops who were withdrawing from Illovaysk cauldron. The cease fire was agreed upon, and the "green" corrdiros were established, but treacherously Russian military opened fire killing not just Ukrainian troops, but a significant number of their own POWs taken by Ukrainians earlier that week. Ukrainian army units which didn't trust the Russian promises broke through Russian encirclement with very light casualties.

One very valuable lesson the Russians taught us in 2008, was to never trust such proposals in any shape or form, especialy during ceasefire.

Well Ukrainian units (mostly "volunteer" under the auspices of Ministry of Interior) thought that the Russian regulars would honor the deal unlike "separatists", plus once again, there were Russian POWs in the column.
