The Cabinet Committee on Security has approved a contract worth INR 110 billion (US $ 1.5 billion) for the development of the Center for Aviation Airborne Systems (CABS), which is part of the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) ) new aircraft systems for early warning and control (AWACS and U) Netra Mk II on the platform of an Airbus A319 passenger aircraft.
Six Airbus A319 aircraft will be transferred to the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) for equipping with a new AWACS and U complex from the presence of Air India.
