Pte Scrivener is a radio operator serving with 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), currently on Operation Enoggera. Working in extreme conditions of heat and humidity, the battalion have found many tunnels and rice caches outside a deserted Viet Cong village.

Aboriginal soldier 15989 Corporal Thomas Henry (Tom or "Buddy") Lea, 10 Platoon, D Company, 6 RAR, of Rockhampton, Qld, moves cautiously into a Viet Cong village with his Owen gun at the ready during the first mission by the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), Operation Enoggera.

Cpl Buddy Lea was later wounded in action during the Battle of Long Tan on 18 August 1966.
