A long refreshing drink from a water bottle as 21 year old Private (Pte) Paul Large, 12 Platoon, D Company, 6 RAR, of Coolah, NSW, pauses during digging in on Operation Enoggera, the first mission by the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), against the Viet Cong. Pte Large was later killed in action on 18 August 1966 during the Battle of Long Tan.

5 July 1966. Wiping sweat from his brow is Private (Pte) Clive Scrivener of Maryborough, Qld. Pte Scrivener is a radio operator serving with 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), currently on Operation Enoggera. Working in extreme conditions of heat and humidity, the battalion have found many tunnels and rice caches outside a deserted Viet Cong village.

Aboriginal soldier 15989 Corporal Thomas Henry (Tom or "Buddy") Lea, 10 Platoon, D Company, 6 RAR, of Rockhampton, Qld, moves cautiously into a Viet Cong village with his Owen gun at the ready during the first mission by the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), Operation Enoggera.

Cpl Buddy Lea was later wounded in action during the Battle of Long Tan on 18 August 1966.

26 June 1966. 37339 Corporal Mario Geri of Wynnum North, Brisbane, Qld, eating a refreshing juicy persimmon plucked from an orchard in a captured Viet Cong village during Operation Enoggera. The action was the first against the Communists by the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR).

Beret of the Prince of Wales Light Horse unit worn by Trooper James "Jock" McCormick of Flemington, Melbourne, Vic, recalls his CMF service with the 5th Battalion, Royal Victorian Regiment, before he joined the Regular Army for service in Vietnam. Tpr McCormick was taking part in Operation Enoggera with the 1st Armoured Personnel Carrier Squadron in support of the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR).
