Firearms Showcase Your Firearms

That's a nice family collection of pistols. Much as I'd like to own a couple, getting a pistol license in NZ is far too much of a PITA, and retaining it is even more of one.
Hah, that's not even a quarter of what I own with just handguns but thanks. And I plan on picking up another in a few more weeks hopefully, a G21 Gen 5 MOS.

Hit the range to try out Ely Club 22 ammo I've had laying around for a while. Very accurate and mild but cycled my Ruger 22/45 100%. My Euro pals were scoffing about the "Hubble Telescope" on a 22, but it's accurate enough to shoot chin whiskers off an Amish fly @ 25 paces! ;^)

Optics on handguns are now mainstream, however I see the future for any magnified glass to be a prism as far as handguns go.

Same here, you can technically get the license if you’re free of a criminal record/mental health issues etc, but every other years you’ve got to renew your license to the police station, have the local prefecture be well aware you have firearms home.

Hunters have it easier of sort, and yet they need to keep their rifles in a safe, and in the trunk of the car while driving to the forest.

I walked in, filled out the 4473, let them make a copy of my license and concealed carry permit, and was out the door in less than 20 minutes. Permits are for five years then renew 90 days prior to expiration of old, renew in another five years. Don't even need a permit to carry concealed here even, just be a legal possessor. But to buy a gun without the permit means that they have to call it in and you have to get background checked. However the CCP is our background check as it's already been done so there will be no delay if your name is similar to others that are on the naughty no-go list.

I'd have to belong to a pistol club and do "competitive shooting" which is a minimum of 800 rounds per month in a competition setting. That's far too rich for my blood.

That POS who attacked that mosque really messed it up for the rest of you fellas, from the looks of it.

Yes, yes he did. We had it pretty damn good before then - and we knew it. And all because the cops screwed up, we lost it.

Personally I hope he dies very slowly from being stabbed in the perineum in jail.

Nice P365, my son has one as his daily carry. We're Constitutional Carry here in NH, no carry permit required but I have one for reciprocity with some of the nearby states, not MA.

Anyway, my father-in-law just gifted me two things, his USMC Ka-Bar from the 60s and his .30-06. It is nothing special value wise, a Sears Model 53 with is a Winchester Model 70 rebadged, but it is in excellent shape and after cleaning and inspecting it I will get some pictures up on here. It hasn't been shot since the 70s so I want to really take my time getting it back into service.

In case Gal Gadot messages me "hey jimmy wachdoin for the weekend"

Yep, Constitutional Carry here as well in AZ for as long as we've lived here. But I do the permit anyway because F getting delayed and before Florida was CC since July, I needed the permit whenever I visited my mother because there is reciprocity too.

I'm a Glock dude for the most but I'm also not retarded and don't push the hype and myths about them either. And hey, if they were all that, then teaching Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 malfunctions would cease to exist at nearly every professional schools of instruction from academies to places like Gunsight and Thunder Ranch, or in your neck of the woods, Sig Academy. The 365X is for our daughter though, it's what she wanted.

Only .30-06 I have is an old 1944 SA M1 Garand.

As we often say, regardless of the topics, the US got plenty of things wrong (and so does Europe), but you’re rather blessed by the 1st and second amendment.

Been to Sig Academy several times. I was also able to go to the old S&W indoor range before they closed it many years ago. Will have to go visit the new S&W place since they threw a big FY to MA and left for a state that appreciates their business.

On the road this week so pictures Fri-Sat after I get home.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but what Europe does in it's own backyard is none of my business but I do truly believe that the US doesn't have much wrong other than too much red tape, a bigger government that needs to shrunken, and now weaponization of the federal government. I may be a bit biased because I live here but have spent significant time abroad and lived by other nations rules, enough to know that I really do appreciate my country.

I don't think politics and nation bashing belongs in this section but that's just me.

Yep, don’t worry about the slight off topic, happens to me and others in literally every threads.

Thanks for your contribution to the firearms thread here.

Late 1943 Inland. Records shows it going to the 6th US Army and was most likely issued, carried by, and was fought with to liberate the Philippines. Went to Japan for storage until reissued for Korea where the manifest for that was lost. Reappears again in the states before being declared surplus shortly right after War of the Worlds was released to which the US 6th Army were being used as extras, and this was most likely being used during the filming.

An old B-29 gunner from the USAF during the Korean War, got me that info. He had his kids scour all the ports for the manifests on both coasts and territories abroad and what a treasure trove of info he had. I bought this back in 2014.

So jealous of these firearms. Now I'm retired from the service I don't get to touch them anymore.

Though I have been looking at air rifles to shoot the pigeons that attack my veg plot.

I've been thinking of getting one for potting the Indian Mynah birds around my place - a right pest they are. But my lanes of fire are somewhat restricted so it would probably have to be pretty low power for safety.
