Took a 190 km trip (380 round trip) to attend a Collectors Fair in Targu-Mures and picked up these
a WW1 trio and WW2 Special Constabulary medal to T4-041203 DVR. E. GASSON A.S.C.
The S.C. medal is named to Ernest Gasson.

Odd find, I first saw the BWM and Victory medal on a table no sign of the other two medals, 1914-15 Star and Special Constabulary medal,
I bought the BWM and Vic and one hour later the seller came over to me to say he found the 1914/15 star in the bottom of his briefcase so I took it, 20 mins later he came back to my table with the special Constabulary, as I was loath to see the set split up, I purchased that one as well.
Downside was I sold nothing, lol!

Not sure where to put this, but it's from about 5 years ago. Its my 2nd favorite watch ever, the other being the 1st model G-Shock which I eventually took down to 180' on a solo dive. Actually I loved them both equally. It's made from some form of stainless steel used in submarines. Damasko does mention the 212 below.

In a moment of weakness - and a winning scratch card - I scored a Umarex pellet pistol made under license from Ruger. Single shot 177 cal. I just got it and have only fired a quick test target (I forgot to photograph that). I read reviews from people complaining long & loud about the trigger. It's not the best, but I've shot a lot worse. I'll run a couple hundred pellets through it before I do anything drastic.

So far I REALLY like it! :D Also shown with the real deal for comparison.

Romania, Socialist Republic. An Order of Tudor Vladimirescu, V Class, circa. 1970.

(Ordinul Tudor Vladimirescu, Clasa V). Instituted in 1966.

1966 - 1989 Issue. In bronze gilt with orange enamels, the center piece illustrating the bust of Tudor Vladimirescu, mounted to a base bearing ten emanating stacked rays, measuring 63.8 mm (w) x 67 mm (h), horizontal pin back.

The Order was instituted on April 13, 1966 in five classes and two medals, soon after Nicolae Ceausescu became First Secretary of the Communist Party of Romania, to be awarded for political merit and service to the Socialist Republic of Romania.

Tudor Vladimirescu (1780-1821) was a revolutionary leader who sought to overthrow the Greek Phanariot rule of the Romanian provinces subject to Ottoman rule, Vladimirescu had fought with Russian forces in the Russo-Turkish wars of 1806-1812, and together with his perceived progressive and nationalist outlook, made him the ideal Romanian hero for the early Ceauşescu era.

Tudor Vladimirescu was executed by the Greeks at Târgovişte on June 7, 1821, ironically the same place where Ceauşescu was executed in December 1989.

Don’t know much if at all about modeling but that seems like a very good deal.
It was 40% off on all their boxed model kits until this past Saturday at closing time. It was originally $30.00.
I have done all kinds of aircraft and ships since around 1958. Some I painted and some not. I will paint all the parts on the sprues/trees first but the waterline on this one, unlike others I have done, appears to be very difficult to tape off and spray, unlike some others due to the way it is moulded and I can’t lay a straight length of tape along the hull and I would rather not have a crooked water line so for me, it really is no big deal to eliminate it. One known as a “master modeler“ may think differently. I do not fall into that category. I just have fun. But I have already spray painted the deck and applied some decals which will not interfere when it comes time to glue it to the hull.

I honestly don't know anything about models but I do know that Hobby Lobby own four business jets collectively worth about fifty million dollars. I know it was on sale but I think they were still overcharging you somehow.
That is today’s prices. Look at Amazon, especially kits by Tamiya, which are the best in the business, for my liking. They are expensive. If you have Prime, you are better off and save a shipping charge. A cheaper kit, but with flash and a poor fit are models by Revell. I try to stay away from them. Aircraft or ships will test your patience. Hobby Lobby sells mostly Revell and AirFix models at the location in Chambersburg, Pa. I bought this Academy kit because they have a pretty good reputation and are based in Korea. Tamiya is Japan. On another note, I found a way to tape off the hull, which I earlier said I wouldn’t do. I used Frog Tape, doesn’t bleed through. This is for the waterline. These instructions called for a mixture of flat black and a little red. I painted it flat black with Testors paint and I am pleased with the result. And models are usually priced by the number of pieces and size of the model. This will be 18” long when completed and with many, many parts. My winter project. Helps with the agility factor.
So, Hobby Lobby owns jets. I learned something.
