Food & drink What are you drinking?

And again.

Just a couple this evening to mellow the post holiday blues.

Also having this one....

Spent the last 10 days in Italy and I need something other than bland, fizzy lagers. Not exactly the best beers in the world there IMHO.

^--IMHO, the lighter lagers work really well with hot weather, but will leave you looking for something more eventually.

Alaskan Brewing's limited summer release: Fireweed Blonde. A light ale, no hops to speak of, with some fireweed honey in the mix. Nice, but not "wow" on the first try. Will try again tonight, as I bought a sixer!

Needed a 'toddy' tonight - whiskey - hot water and sugar - been outside building all day and the more whiskey in it the less pain in my joints

You nailed it there. They were good whilst it was hot, but after a while the lack of real flavour started to kick in and you couldn't really distinguish between one or the other.

This is a great beer not new to me, but arguably one of the best from the Netherlands, widely known and readily available too.

Not a massive wine drinker but I know what I like, generally Malbecs and Pinot Grigiots. I am firmly in the "six quid a bottle" camp - if I need to pay more than that to make it taste good, then I'll find one cheaper that I like the taste of.
Mostly bought this Californian one to wind up LAWorkerbee and ended up enjoying it, then googled it and it's a rebadged EJ Gallo wine. That doesn't bother me a whole lot, but I like the idea of it not being from a massive company, so felt a bit sad after.

Tasted good though.

My new favourite lemonade: Hopster - a hop lemonade very refreshing not so sweet and with an excellent hop taste

I also like Malbecs a lot they pair very well with red roasted meat/ BBQ.

As for white wine I`m a bit sensitive to the acid so I found this one, it is made using a special LO3 procedure and thus is only mildly acid. I also became a fan of the Grauburgunder and Weissburgunder lit. white and gray burgundian aka pinot gris/grigio

My other favourite white (green) is the portuguese "Muralhas de Moncao"

I found this one at an EDEKA store for about 5 €

Here is an english review of the German Grauburgunder but those mentioned in the article may be much more expensive

I'd be up for a sip of that Burgundian, even before I read the review!
