Old school M60s. Is the TSK running out of modern MBTs or too scared it will loose them to Konkurs like it did when it was fighting IS?

None of the M60A3 TTS tanks are being used as the frontrunners, the tanks you see in these photos are already advancing through the taken zones by FSA. Unlike the previous two operations they are using the FSA as pioneer force for this one so they are not see the logic of using high-end tanks into the zones that already secured by FSA. For the dirty work they have already deployed M60T1 Fırat-Sabra tanks with aselsan pulat active protection system like you can see from my posts.

Although They have not a problem of regarding the modern tank inventory. Like I shared on the current inventory list the Turkish Army have at least 330 units of Leopard 2A4s waiting for aselsan Leopard 2NG upgrade and 169 units of M60T1 Fırat-Sabra main battle tanks but few of these were redoployed to Iraq and Syrian borders and the bulk of them are still in the western parts of Turkey since they assume M60A3 TTS is enough to fight against asymmetric threats.

Interesting, that would explain the mix fleet of MPT 76's and G3's with 40mm launchers seen up to this point. Anyone know if the launcher opens to the left as well?

If you are referring the pics like on the attachments of this post these are MKEK HK-33E (5.56mm). However your overall assumption is right but If I know correctly only the Marines are using them like that to benefit MKEK T40 40mm GLs on priorly used rifles because 40mm underbarrell GL had not become available for the MPT-76 & MPT-55 rifles yet. The rest of the forces are mostly using MKEK 40mm revolving grenade launchers (local version of Milkor MGL) so they were not feeling the absance of underbarrel GLs for the new rifles yet.

Do Turkish force encounter heavy resistance form the Kurds. I got the part about being "abandoned and stabbed in the back", but Kurds do have numbers and weaponry from all over to oppose conventional army.

From what I heard from the field Turkish Army did not face a major resistance like the previous operations but that is a relative reason their usage of better equipped and trained FSA rebels as pioneers. And also for most of the towns our guys are using UCAVs to locate and destroy the essential targets. Up untill now Turkish forces are carrying out the operation with 5 KIA and 3 WIA and 18 civilians murdered as a resut of shells fired to border towns from PYD/YPG compounds in Syria. According to Turkish MoD security forces have taken down 594 PYD/YPG militia untill then. However I dont have the knowledge of the FSA losses. They probably have much more higher casualties than Turkish Army.

The only artifical loss for the Turkish military is a BMC Kirpi II MRAP ambushed and captured by the YPG/PYD which was returning from the combat zone (Two Turkish soldiers killed during the incident). The vehicle was destroyed with an airstrike afterwards.

And also I know the mainstream media is promoting YPG/PYD as "Kurds" but they are only one side of a fragmented armed Kurdish groups out there in the filed. And since Turkey is in conflict with only the pro-PKK fractions. We are fine with the rest Kurdsih Peshmerga in Northern Iraq who were supported and trained by the Turkish military for almost more than two decades.
