Went over to the Cemetery at about 17:00 hrs Romanian time om All Souls Day,with the good lady wife
to bring candles and flowers to the WW1 plot I maintain also a candle for her dad buried in Cugir 50km away,
and my Mother buried in Ireland.

Gave up my seat for one of our pilots to reatin currency as his plane is down for repairs, got an awesome look at an active volcano that still rumbling. That's Taal volcano... notice its surrounded by a lake? Whale... that lake is apparently a caldera and it bigger than most cities.

Americans had their Day Light Saving overnight and I was talking to this friend of mine in NC mentioning how worthless DST was these days.

He only asked if we still had it here too, I only replied that the European Union ?? was supposed to end it about three years ago but Brussels couldn’t run a piss up in Cantillon’s brewery if they tried so, yep. We’re stuck with this too.

Been home for a few days now & figured it would be a good day to unpack my gear. Smells are my trigger & Afghanistan hit me right in the face when I got as far as unzipping my bag. Did get my favorite pair of sneakers out & soaking in a bucket of water with a little bleach. Thankfully the post laundry have all my dirty uniforms & do a good job cleaning them springtime fresh. Some days I feel like a wussy.

When you look forward to your solitary day off .. pack the bag ...ready to wake up early for a days excursion ...only to look out the window .. and it's raining ..

Contradicting .. the Met office weather App whilst looking at the intended location of heading too it's raining there ,. go back to bed .. then wake up near lunch time .. look out it's still raining ..

Give up and went back to bed ..

The campsite view yesterday.

After that trip, I will ensure that I will always have a Hilux in my garage.

Went to the wrong road, saw the path turn into mud and just a walking trail, kept going, gut stuck in clay mud and a big rock with no where to go. While it was raining

Reversed up the steep sloping trail with a little push by some local guys and about 6 tries (in reverse) got out with minor scrapes. Of all my time going off to trails this was number one in "oh S**t" factor.

Simply due to the location away from the nearest help and if stuck would need to organize construction equipment to pull it out.

Hilux is bone stuck with original highway tires.
