It’s a bit a of challenge because I’m closer to being middle-aged than a young gun. Also, to the very few people I mentioned it to - I’m officially doomed from now on as men usually say.
 
Don't worry Jake, one of my mates remarried and now has two kids aged 2 and 4 while he's 55. And my brother has a 6 year old son and he's aged 53. And they're both enjoying it.

Dont worry, Jake. Im 44 and have no kids... thats all.

Since we are in this topic, I'm looking at tuition fees for kids, and it's about $4500 for a really good school that has a campus that rivals most in the planet. I could go with a cheaper one, but you know "where's the air of superiority" :D

Well kids are treasures you only know when having them.

Bit stressful and dirty but worth it.

Mine are now teens but I think being a bit older is no problem, on the contrary you may be more settled and enjoy it better.

As @TheKiwi aptly points out, men around their 40s beginning or having even their first kid isn’t that rare nowadays, and as you also rightly say I am more settled now than I was fifteen years ago. It was now or never, I ain’t gonna live forever… ;)

Thanks again all. That kid is gonna turn me into a soft gaga in no time. No more crankiness from now on.

Man, Ive come to an age where nobody really compares cars or computer specs anymore. The new flex among friends now is blood chem results…. F*** Im old.

Yesterday evening was our first rush to the ER and hospital with the preggo missus because the lab showed dubious results regarding her urine and a possible urinary tract infection. Lucky of us the ER was almost empty beside a whacko middle aged woman asking me why I was there and for how long and so on. How about you mind your own business and leave me alone?

Fortunately a false alarm as she has a cystitis and was advised to drink more.

You know you are french, when the doctors order you to drink more as a solution ;) put some cigarette in that lungs too. :D Hope you are blessed with an easy pregnancy
 
When i was down at the Esplanade at Greenock . A guy in his late 50s came up to me and said
" I saw you taking pics yesterday " .. then he said he found it funny because i was changing lenses . Then to my utter shock . He proceeds to show me a video he took of me from his house , Speeded up .
I got the feeling he was looking for a reaction ...and was again possibly recording me no doubt .
Then he said ' Have you gone shy " Because i hardly said a word to him ...
