According to many people, the "MAPA" camouflage was well developed, but it did not meet the requirements of the Ministry of National Defense (in terms of the size of paint colour samples on the edge of the fabric and other requirements that were omitted) and it was not put into use. A designer mistake that cost them a lot.
MAPA(A and B) camouflage was made by Maciej Dojlitko and after some good PR it was sold to MASKPOL(he received nice amount of money for it) where it was tested with other new camo "LAMPART" and "Woodland Pantera/Pantera leśna" (Lampart looks and works really BAD).
Development of Lampart camouflage was ~6mln PLN 2 years ago, and camo is REALLY BAD, worse than bad.
Tests were done in 2 places Institute and WAT(Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna, Military University of Technology. In Institute MAPA results were bad but in WAT it got high scores. One of tests is checking colours, they must be EXACTLY same as in documentation, issue was, test is done by machine which couldn't get reading on MAPA, because "pattern is too small". Smallest area this machine checks is 20x20mm, so Institute told MASKPOL to add "control points" on uniform, 1 per each square meter so 21 control points in total. So they asked to add 21x 20x20mm "control points" of EACH SINGLE CAMO COLOUR so the Instute can check if everything is right and they weren't cheated. Of course there is ONLY ONE company with certificate for uniform camo in Poland, ANDROPOL. So, after they added those 21 squares of camo colours, they were told that theyDECEIVED MOD/Intitute, because pattern now is different than before. ITS GODDAMN JOKE.
So, now they didnt get it to army, and they can't sell it to public
.
Whole new camo procurement is a joke. Trying to get through people who mentally stayed in 90s and they only want to get to retirement without anything big happening during it.
Here is old MAPA fanpage which was run by ppl who advertised it, so it is legit.
Whole post about it
To also post something positive, few new photos of Borsuk/Badger IFV and KTO Rosomak with ZSSW-30 turret
