On December 4, the Ministry of National Defense signed with the Łucznik-Radom Arms Factory a three-year contract for the supply of 20,000 Vis 100 guns. The weapon will be sent to units of Territorial Defense, Land Forces, Air Force and Navy from the second half of 2019. Deliveries under the first agreement will end in 2021.
The name Vis 100 was given to the design previously developed by the Fabryka Broni (Arms Factory), previously called in the factory PR-15 Ragun (it is an abbreviation of Pistolet Radomski 2015, and Ragun was created from the combination of the words Radom and Gun). Work on the construction began in 2013, and the weapon itself was revealed to the public in 2014. The official name given by the Minister of National Defense refers to the wz. 35 Vis, produced by Fabryka Broni in 1936-1939. Number 100 is a reference to the introduction of weapons on the anniversary of the Polish independence.
