I never understood why Poland turned down the opportunity to buy our last 2 OHP frigates. They were going cheap, upgraded to the max and very well looked after and cared for. They were certainly miles ahead capability wise and condition wise than the old OHPs bought ex USN
Chile couldn't believe it when Poland declined and snapped them up in a heartbeat. They are extremely happy with them
PIAP HUNTeR is a project of a Polish unmanned land vehicle. The robot can be used to observe and patrol borders, military or urban areas, as well as to provide fire support for light infantry or cover a column of mechanized troops. PIAP HUNTeR is equipped with daytime and thermal imaging cameras as well as a radio communication system.
The robot weighs over four tons and is nearly five meters long. The vehicle has a hybrid drive, which includes a power generator and traction electric motors. The power supply system used allows the robot to work for a long time, and it also enables noiseless movement in purely electric mode.
PIAP HUNTeR reaches a maximum speed of over 50 km/h. The platform is equipped with six high-resolution cameras. In addition, the operator can be assisted by the vision systems used in the AREX ZMU-03 unmanned turret when controlling and detecting the enemy.
