K9 Max – Williamson County Sheriff’s Office

On the morning of July 12, 2018, 90-year-old Rafael Lopez went missing in Hutto, Texas. Local police and the Williamson County Sheriff’s office immediately started an extensive aerial & ground search for Mr. Lopez. As temperatures rose to well over 100 degrees that July day, so did the danger that Mr. Lopez could succumb to his medical conditions. After an extensive 7 hours aerial and ground search, K9 Max and Deputy Bell were brought in to help find Mr. Lopez. K9 Max quickly found Mr. Lopez’s scent during he and Deputy Bell’s scouting search and was able to lead deputies directly to Mr. Lopez. Mr. Lopez was found on the ground in the middle of the field. He was dehydrated and barely able to move.
