Petition regarding Parachute Training
The Government has announced that until 2011 or thereabouts, NO ONE will receive Parachute training. This includes all those connected with the Para Brigade but I'm not sure about Special forces.
The Service Chiefs admit that this is a cost cutting exercise.
I would ask all UK members to go to the following site at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Military-Madness/
The petition itself is found under the Government, Politics and Public Administration category (NOT Defence, a crafty move I believe!).
Having a Parachute Regiment filled with non-parachutists is just unbelievable.
This has confirmed my believes that this Bliar government really HAS lost its corporate marbles.
In my opinion the officers who thought of this idea, should be publicly cashiered on Horse Guards Parade.
