The Turkish army tested a long-range missile for the Hisar-O air defense system. The Turkish Hisar-O medium-range air defense system is expected to become the basis of Turkey's Steel Dome air defense system. The missile reportedly successfully hit a target at a distance of more than 40 kilometers. The Hisar-O air defense system was first unveiled by the Turkish company Aselsan in 2015. The Hisar-O air defense system is capable of detecting and tracking a fighter-type target at a distance of up to 60 km. On August 15, the Turkiye newspaper reported that Turkey intends to use Russian S-400 air defense systems until its own air defense system is created.

In Yemen, the Houthis presented a new two-stage hypersonic missile, the Palestine-2. It is worth noting that many experts doubt that the missile can reach hypersonic speeds and maneuver for a long time.
As officially reported, the Palestine-2 missile can reach speeds 16 times greater than the speed of sound and travel up to 2,150 kilometers. It is also reported that the missile is capable of bypassing "the most complex air defense systems in the world." Presumably, the missile is based on Iranian missiles.

Israel said on Thursday it had secured an $8.7 billion aid package from the United States to support its ongoing military efforts and to maintain a qualitative military edge in the region.
The package includes $3.5 billion for essential wartime procurement, which has already been received and earmarked for critical military purchases, and $5.2 billion designated for air defence systems including the Iron Dome anti-missile system, David's Sling and an advanced laser system.

Israel is currently fighting on two fronts, against the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in Gaza and the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement in Lebanon.
The aid announcement came after negotiations at the Pentagon between Eyal Zamir, the director general of Israel's defence ministry, and U.S. defence officials, including acting Under Secretary of Défense for Policy Amanda Dory, Israel's Defence Ministry said in a statement.

"This substantial investment will significantly strengthen critical systems such as Iron Dome and David's Sling while supporting the continued development of an advanced high-powered laser defence system currently in its later stages of development," it said.
The ministry said the deal underscores the "strong and enduring strategic partnership between Israel and the United States and the ironclad commitment to Israel's security", particularly in addressing regional security threats from Iran and Iranian-backed militias.

The IDF has released footage of Israeli Air Force F-15I fighters in action. During Operation New Order, the F-15s reportedly struck a Hezbollah leader's underground bunker in Beirut with an MPR-500 aerial bomb and others. The Israeli MPR-500 bunker buster bomb was introduced by Israel Military Industries Ltd in 2012. The MPR-500 bomb can be modified into a guided munition by installing an American JDAM GPS kit, and a rocket booster can be installed on the bomb. Weighing 227 kg, the MPR-500 bomb contains up to 60 kg of explosive and can penetrate 1 meter of solid concrete or four concrete floors up to 200 mm thick. The MPR 500 provides a concentrated explosive effect, creating about 26,000 fragments within a radius of 100 meters.

In Yemen, the Houthis demonstrated tests of the new Al-Qari'a underwater sea drone. The Al-Qari'a underwater drone can be called conditionally, since the drone goes to the target in a semi-submerged state, the movement of the sea drone is adjusted using a camera on a tripod. This implementation of the sea drone carries serious complications for ships, since it is difficult to hit it, at night only the ships' hydroacoustics can detect it. The Al-Qari'a kamikaze drone is made in the form of a torpedo and is presumably produced with the participation of Iran. There is currently no technical information on the drone. Earlier, the US Navy reported the defeat of an underwater sea drone, the drone model was not reported

The Israeli defence ministry said on Thursday it had signed an agreement to acquire 25 next generation F-15 fighter jets from Boeing Co

It said the $5.2 billion agreement was part of a broader package of U.S. aid approved by the U.S. administration and Congress earlier this year and included an option for 25 additional aircraft.
Delivery of the new F-15IA aircraft will begin in 2031, with 4-6 aircraft to be supplied annually, it said.

The aircraft will be equipped with weapons systems integrated with existing Israeli weapons as well as having increased range and payloads.
"These advantages will enable the Israeli Air Force to maintain its strategic superiority in addressing current and future challenges in the Middle East," the ministry said in a statement.
"This F-15 squadron, alongside the third F-35 squadron procured earlier this year, represents a historic enhancement of our air power and strategic reach - capabilities that proved crucial during the current war," the director general of the defence ministry, Eyal Zamir, said in the statement.

Zamir said that the government has secured procurement agreements worth nearly $40 billion since the onset of the war in Gaza that began Oct. 7, 2023.
"While focusing on immediate needs for advanced weaponry and ammunition at unprecedented levels, we're simultaneously investing in long-term strategic capabilities," he said.
For Boeing, the F-15 agreement is the second major deal this year. In August, flag carrier El Al Israel Airlines signed a deal with Boeing for the purchase of up to 31 737 MAX aircraft worth as much as $2.5 billion, beating out rival Airbus.

Ido Nehushtan, president of Boeing Israel, said the company's relationship dates back to Israel's establishment and "will continue working with the U.S. and Israeli governments to deliver the advanced F-15IA aircraft through standard military procurement channels."

The Israeli Navy has named the INS Drakon submarine at the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) shipyard in Kiel, Germany.

The main difference with respect to the previous Dolphin class submarines also built by TKMS is its elongated sail, which could house a vertical launch system for missiles in addition to the 533 mm and 650 mm torpedo tubes of the previous vessels.
