A military parade was held in Baghdad on January 6 in honor of the 103rd anniversary of the creation of the Iraqi army. The military parade was hosted by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and members of the government. It is worth noting that the military equipment of the Iraqi army is widely represented by manufacturers from different countries; quite a lot of military equipment is Russian and American-made. At the parade one could see Iraqi tanks, Russian-made T-90S, and T-72M1 “Lion of Babylon”, Pantsir-S1 air defense systems, TOS-1A “Solntsepek” heavy flamethrower vehicles, BMP-3 and BMP-1 armored personnel carriers, MLRS BM-21 "Grad" and other military equipment. The parade included Iraqi tanks, American-made M1 Abrams, M113 armored personnel carriers and Humvee armored vehicles, M109A5 self-propelled guns and other military equipment. Iraqi aviation was represented by Chinese-Pakistani-made JF-17 Block fighters, which are replacing American F-16 aircraft, Russian-made Mi-35M helicopters and other aircraft.

Israeli defense concern Rafael Advanced Defense presented an improved configuration of the Spyder All in One air defense system. The new version of the Spyder All in One air defense system includes a built-in radar, an electro-optical radar, an improved command and control system, as well as two types of Python and Derby interceptor missiles located on a mobile platform. The SPYDER air defense system uses Derby missiles, with a range of 35 kilometers, and Python 5 missiles, capable of intercepting targets at a distance of up to 20 kilometers. According to the developers, mounting all short- and medium-range air defense components on one platform is the optimal solution for a new generation of air defense.

The launch of a Dezful ballistic missile from the Shahid Mahdavi mother ship is shown in Iran. The Iranian Dezful solid-fuel ballistic missile is a continuation of the Zolfaghar project and is superior to these missiles due to the use of new technologies. The flight range of Dezful missiles is about 1000 kilometers. The multi-purpose combat ship "Shahid Mahdavi" of Iran was created on the basis of the civilian container ship Sarvin. The Shahid Mahdavi ship has a displacement of more than 2,100 tons, a length of 240 meters and a width of 27 meters. "Shahid Mahdavi" is equipped with a three-dimensional phased array radar, anti-ship, anti-aircraft and cruise missiles. The ship houses electronic warfare systems, helicopters, UAVs and sea boats.

Iran unveiled the first fully indigenous Arman missile defense system. This complex has already been shown before and even took part in exercises. The Arman anti-missile system was a further development of the Khordad-15 air defense system. The Arman air defense system combines both a launcher and a radar station; previously, a separate truck was used for the radar. By combining missiles with radar on one platform, we increased the mobility and speed of deployment of the complex; it is ready for work in three minutes. The Arman air defense system is equipped with three missiles and a radar with an active phased array; there can be an option without it. The Arman anti-missile system is capable of detecting targets at a distance of up to 180 km and hitting them at a distance of up to 120 km, simultaneously firing at 6 of them.

The first flight of the Turkish prototype of the fifth generation fighter KAAN took place today. The KAAN fighter has been developed by Turk Ucak Sanayi since 2017. The KAAN fighter should replace the American-made Turkish F-16 fighters and may compete with the F-35 and F-22 aircraft. The Ukrainian Air Force also plans to purchase the KAAN fighter. Iran's Shahid Soleimani-class missile catamarans, review. The Iranian Navy received two more missile catamarans of the "Shahid Soleimani" type, and the fleet was replenished with the ships "Shahid Hassan Bagheri" and "Shahid Sayad Shirazi". The ship is equipped with 4 Iranian engines and has a cruising range of up to 5,000 miles, and a ship speed of up to 32 knots or 59 km/h.

Kuwait will receive 13 more Eurofighter jets from Italy over the next 18 months out of the 28 aircraft under the ‘Eurofighter Kuwait’ program, said Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, who arrived in Kuwait on an official visit on Tuesday, leading a high-ranking delegation. In an exclusive interview with Kuwait Times, the visiting Italian minister spoke about a wide range of topics and elaborated on the growing bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and Italy, particularly in the field of defense.

Crosetto said the close cooperation between Italy and Kuwait is an extraordinary example of how bilateral relations can evolve positively over time, embracing a wide range of sectors. “Our cooperation, that has been ongoing for over 60 years, has seen significant developments in crucial areas such as defense. Iran has received Russian Yak-130 combat training aircraft, the first pair of aircraft have already become part of the Iranian Air Force. The planes are based at the 8th Tactical Aviation Base named after Shahid Babai in Isfahan, Iranian media reported.
