On December 21, 2022, the press service of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic (Armáda České republiky, AČR) announced the receipt of the first of the 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks promised by Germany, in exchange for the transfer of over 72 T-72M1 tanks to Ukraine.

Two days earlier, the first of 15 tanks of this type was handed over to Slovakia in the same way.
