Politics Chinese balloon Over the US

Uhh thats a shot in the foot by China if it contains spy hardware. They say it was just a weather balloon and made a big fuss out of it accusing the US of smearing good China.

They apparently also tried to stear it away. It allegedly contains AI which steers it.

Meanwhile German Telecom companies can not install enough Huawei RAN Hardware. 59 %

Because its not proven that trustworthy China spies everywhere. Its all evil US propaganda.

"Calm, calculated, effective."

Is Schumer from Belgium??

Imagine the ballon was carrying some kind of poison.... would that be feasable?
dry run for air dispersal of bio weapons? certainly. explosives tend to be very noticeable, as well as destroying some/all of the very agent you want to use to infect, someone on the ground may only be able to disperse the substance to a very limited extent, and at great personal risk, but this, if undetected, would be perfect, lots of room for plausible deniability. in fact, it could just be attributed as an "act of god", i.e. just "one of those things that nature throws our way every once in a while"
like covid, cause everyone knows it didn't come from an "accidental" lab release...

Kirby announced an "object" got shot down over Alaska.

Kirby also noted the "ownership" of the "object" is not known.

So... they previously let a clearly identified object fly over Alaska, then Canada, then Mainland US, with its "ownership" known and wait until the very end to shoot it down. Out of prudence and caution.

Now they are just shooting anything on sight. :D

Kirby said that the object was shot down because it was flying at around 40,000 feet and could have posed a threat to civilian aircraft versus the Chinese spy craft discovered last week, which Kirby said was at 65,000 feet and posed no threat to civilian aircraft.

I guess another object was shot down over Canada with an F-22 today.

They are balloons, why call them objects.

There may be a reason to let it continue
