On October 31, the DPRK conducted another training launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, presumably the Hwasong-19. The launch was led by Kim Jong-un.
The current launch allowed Pyongyang to once again test the complex control system for its missiles in order to minimize the risk of their interception. The Japanese Defense Minister reported that the missile's flight lasted 1 hour and 26 minutes, the flight altitude was 7,000 kilometers, and the flight range was 1,000 kilometers.
Thus, the flight time of this ballistic missile was the longest, and the altitude was the greatest. Over the past few years, the North Korean military-industrial complex has managed to develop a whole line of intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Hwasong-15, Hwasong-17 and Hwasong-18 missiles are capable of hitting targets at a distance of 13 to 15 thousand kilometers.

An episode of the second stage of the Russian-Indonesian naval exercises "Orruda-2024" in the Java Sea. Russia used the Pacific Fleet corvettes "Gromkiy", "Rezkiy", "Geroy Rossiyskoy Federatsii Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the medium sea tanker "Pechenga". The Indonesian Navy used the frigate Gusti Ngurah Rai 332 and the corvette Frans Kaisiepo 368. The ships' crews maneuvered and trained in communications using all types of signaling. After practicing interaction, the crews practiced inspection actions of suspicious vessels, blocking and releasing a vessel detected conditionally captured by "terrorists". They also trained to counter unmanned boats with firing from automatic artillery mounts and small arms. After completing the firing, they conducted rescue training at sea.

An American Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker tanker aircraft of the Washington Air National Guard refueled three Su-30MKM fighters of the Royal Malaysian Air Force for the first time. The Washington Air National Guard has been cooperating with the Malaysian Air Force since 2017, but this was the first-ever aerial refueling of Su-30MKM aircraft. The first two Russian-made Su-30MKM fighters were officially purchased by Malaysia in 2007. The decision by the Malaysian leadership to buy the Su-30MKM was largely influenced by the successful experience of operating Su-30MKI aircraft in India.

President Joe Biden approved $571.3 million in defense assistance for Taiwan on Friday, the White House said, as the Democrat prepares to leave office ahead of the January inauguration of Donald Trump.

The United States does not officially recognize Taiwan diplomatically but it is the self-ruled island's strategic ally and largest supplier of weapons.

China, which has ramped up political and military pressure on Taiwan in recent years, has repeatedly called for Washington to cease sending arms and assistance to the island, which it claims as part of its territory.

Taiwanese officials said China held its biggest maritime drills in years last week, with around 90 ships deployed from near the southern islands of Japan to the South China Sea.

Beijing did not confirm the drills.

The White House said in a brief statement that Biden had authorized the drawdown "of up to $571.3 million in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training, to provide assistance to Taiwan."

The statement did not provide details of the military assistance package, which comes less than three months after a similar package worth $567 million was authorized.

Taiwan earlier this week received 38 advanced Abrams battle tanks from the United States, reportedly its first new tanks in 30 years.

On Saturday, the Ministry of National Defense thanked the United States for "its firm security commitment to Taiwan."
