I think it is a very old joke considering that some of those EC are part of NATO.
Funny you should say that. Because Bulgaria, an adversary in both World Wars, is getting a preferential treatment compared to Armenia, a country that has never raised a sword against Russia.

And what sort of that preferential treatment is?

Armenia, a country that has never raised a sword against Russia

Funny you should say that because exactly 100 years ago there was the Russian-Armenian war.

The Soviet Union attacked and annexed the South Caucasus and not the other way around ...

Sergey Viktorovich Kalantaryan new.
I am by birth a Catholic Bunjevac. Not to offend anyone, but the Pope and the Croatian President can both suck a bag of dicks, Serbia is my country. It is a shitty land, but I'll have the honour of it covering my rotten corpse when I inevitably die by a drunken jolly bus driver.

And so on...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but around that same time there was a Russian-Russian war.

Were not the Azeris the enemies of the Russians from the early XIX century and the wars with Persia, and onward? Were not the Armenians stalwart Russian allies in the same time period? And beyond?

Let's get one thing straight. The first real novel that I read was Anna Karenina (the absolute worst piece of work that Tolstoy wrote, but whatever). Whenever Russia competes in any sport, and doesn't have my own country as an opponent, I cheer for Her. I speak pretty good Russian, and Когда мы были на войне brings a tear to my eye.

But this... S**t, this was cold.

It's like seeing your Dad slapping a high-off-her-tits whore. You don't really see the man in the same light any more.

Only if we equate Russian to Bolshevik.

There were ethnic Russians fighting ethnic Armenians.

let's compare the, let's say, "ethic space" of Armenia and Bulgaria develop from 1878

I am not sure what you mean here, if it is about russophobia then nemipuka is prime example but then again he may be bulgarian muslim, they are about same as kosovars.

Commies did not have an ethnicity. Or at the very least, thought little of it. They were the Communist Ummah.

I am an old man, morris. I remember little of the old MP.net. I remember the name, but the possibility of him being a russophobic Bulgarian Muslim or otherwise eludes me.

In any case, let's agree to disagree and not derail the thread any more than we already have.[/QUOTE]

I watched the movie but fell asleep.
Don't even bother. Read "Hadji Murat" and be amazed.

Erdogan is only allowed to move in the confines that the US and Russia allow him to. Anything beyond that is sure to invite a painful bloody nose. Unfortunately for the Syrians, Lybians, and Armenians, and possibly Greeks and Serbs, that margin is pretty wide. Did someone say 'appeasement?'

I don't think we belong in this category, despite the economic crisis we have very advanced military capabilities, but the thing is a political one.

Unfortunately our leaders missed a chance after the Turkish coup in 2016 when the Turkish military was crippled, to launch a first strike and send the Turks to the Altay mountains in Mongolia where they came from in the first place. We did not, and now we bear the weight of this inaction, battling a different kind of war, with Turkey sending immigrants to out border, ships like the Oruc Reis etc. Our political leaders during the coup, supported Erdogan as a democratically elected leader, thinking of our own unpleasant experiences with the 1967 coup.

In my view, after the failed coup, the US at some point, were ''forcing'' us to engage militarily with Turkey, and were provocating this with many similar statements that they ''fear'' a hot clash in the Aegean because even a confined clash would serve the goal of a particular group of US strategy thinkers which is throwing Turkey out of NATO. It's not easily done since there are opposing views in the US administration., but it's easier when Turkey confronts militarily with another NATO ally. This happened also in Cyprus 1974 but with the full American blessings. No relation with the current situation.

Here is a good article about expelling Turkey from NATO.

Can Turkey be Expelled from NATO? It’s Legally Possible, Whether or Not Politically Prudent

Member States Could Declare Turkey in “Material Breach” and Suspend or Terminate their Treaty Relationship

A german and a greek armchair general tellin what to do? NATO members supporting a terrorist organisation for years and even now still supporting another branch of that said organisation. For 9 years we feed and protect most of the Syrian refugees..... I could go on aber ihr seid es einfach nicht wert. Just repeat what you hear and see on western media like a parrot.

I don`t tell anybody what to do by posting an article explaining technicalities. It is not me driving Turkey and its have one cake and eat it too policy.

Also it is not that this "idea" is appearing out of thin air.

It's possible but everybody is waiting for the next, post Erdo leadership after the IMF coming to Turkey again. A few days ago Turkey pointed the finger to the IMF by painting a large sum of the Somali debt but the economic situation is irreversible.
