HMS Koster has been training together with one of NATO's standing mine clearance forces, Standing NATO Mine Countermeasure Group 1.The joint exercise was divided into several different parts. HMS Koster joined the NATO force as an opponent ship where a force protection moment was practiced. The minesweeper was then responsible for a sharp fire against two surface targets. With army units from Eksjö in the south to Boden in the north, the combat function's most important exercise for this year, namely the brigade support exercise (BrigU24), is currently being carried out.
Around the Trängslet shooting range outside Älvdalen, the exercise is taking place, which includes around 700 participants. The exercise itself focuses primarily on the combat function within the brigade. Furthermore, the exercise is also about coordinating the functions of combat, command, air and intelligence - where the use of different sensors is centered.
After an initial stage of transport and preparatory measures, three intensive days now await, focusing precisely on improving and developing the combat function within, in this case, the 4th Brigade (Skaraborg Brigade - MekB-4).
