Stockholm's amphibious regiment forms, together with Älvsborg's amphibious regiment, the navy's Amphibious Corps. The unit operates where sea meets land and is a vital link between army and naval forces. The amphibious capability is known to covertly and flexibly operate on and below the water surface, on land and in the air.As the last outpost in the defense of the country's long coast and many complex archipelago areas, the unit's main task is to use mines, robots, grenade launchers and gunboats to prevent an opponent from gaining a foothold on land.
