Ukrainian counter-battery radar 1l200UK I suspect like many so-called "ground breaking" Ukrainian advancements in military high tech as of late, this long range radar is a completion and extension of the projects that were conceived in the Soviet Union in the late-1980s to early 1991 (I think the Soviet project was called Zoo-2). Ukrainians are successful inc completing and even modernizing these projects because now they have access to and the proper manufacturing base to substitute Soviet and Russian parts with the Western equivalents.

More airforce pics. The helmets being tested are "Made in France" LA-100 US transferred a couple of hundred of surplus pilot helmets to Ukraine since 2015, but they couldn't be retrofitted to the Soviet-era specs of MiG-29 and Su-27. Azeri pilots who fly MiG-29s loaded a couple of LA-100s to Ukrainians, and after that a decision was made to approach the French side with a formal offer to test and most likely immediately adopt this "need it right now" piece of gear.
