Colombian Navy, US Navy and Japanese Navy with the USS Detroit Participates in Tri-Lateral Passing Exercise with Colombia and Japan​



CARIBBEAN SEA - (Sept. 8, 2023) – The Colombian Navy Exclusive Economic Zone Patrol ship ARC Victoria (PZE-48), and Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) Training Squadron ships JS Kashima (TV-3508) and JS Hatakaze (TV-3520) conduct a tri-lateral passing exercise (PASSEX) with the Freedom-class Littoral Combat ship USS Detroit (LCS 7) in the Caribbean Sea, Sept. 8, 2023. The PASSEX enhanced communication and interoperability between forces, and improved operational readiness. USS Detroit is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations assigned to support Commander, Task Force 45’s mission. The mission includes combined naval operations, partnership building, and acting as a service provider to Joint Interagency Task Force South by supporting counter illicit-drug trafficking in Central and South American waters.
