Defence of the Fatherland Rear .webp

Just arrived for my collection today -

Romanian Order Of The Defense Of The Fatherland, II Class. RSR period. (1964-1989.)

Awarded to soldiers for defending the fatherland, also awarded to Romanian secret police. (Securitate.)

Fine enamel to the front. Some scratches to the rear, no doubt the ignorant trying to see is it pure silver content, hopefully will polish out.

Circa 51 mm top to bottom and 53 mm wide.

Used to own 6 SL-1200 mk2's all with shure cartridges - absolute instant start turntables - nothing came close

Back when I worked for Panasonic/Technics NZ (early 2000's) I had all sorts of randos suddenly want to be my best mate when they found out where I worked and if I could score them some cheap SL1200s.

A friend of mine recommend me the store of official souvenir shop of Baykar the maker of tb2.

It was very cheap. I order tb2 model and 2 t-shirts less than 15€ (since currency sucks in Turkey everything is cheap) to Belgium. Excl 5€ shipment..

Had a little money left over from the Euro trip - what to do with it? Scored this Walther Olympia for the minimum bid! Got it in today and am way happy with it! It's raining right along here, but when the roads dry I'll go out on a remote county road and murder a few beer cans for the sight in. Neat feature - there's an integral screwdriver in the magazine for adjusting the front sight. Certainly not collector grade, but I like it!

That account is pretty well drained now which will keep my from pooping the $ away on something sensible! ,-usa

Just bought a refurbed iphone 8 for the boy as his first phone!o_O

Could have had a far worse phone for a first dude.

My first wasn’t even Nokia 3310, but some Siemens from 1999.

Sure the battery lasted for a week, playing “Snake” and sending the expensive AF text now and then, and the call to dad to pick me up after Fridays day at school.

Memories. Who’d have thought Apple would make such brillant and fast iPhones only a decade later.

Bought the top of the range evo blade last month as I have some reinforced concrete posts to cut down later in the summer, and although I have a decent 9" grinder it's not as good as a dedicated saw

Was watching a 'bare' grinder at £130+ and this deal came on - so machine and a spare blade

Got a lot of old big 600mm x 600mm slabs to cut down as well, so this will sort them a treat
