Two U.S. Navy F-4B Phantom II crews, Cmdr. Lou Page and Lt. J.C. Smith in one jet and Lt. Dave Batson and his back seater Lt. Cmdr. Rob Doremus in a second, shoot down a pair of North Vietnamese MiG-17 fighters. These are the first confirmed U.S. Air-to-air victories of the Vietnam War.
