MEDITERRANEAN SEA (June 26, 2018) CRD Dan Del A Cruz has water dumped on him in part of a tradition after his final flight as commanding officer of the “Fighting Checkmates” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 211, aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). Harry S. Truman is currently deployed as part of an ongoing rotation of U.S. forces supporting maritime security operations in international waters around the globe. (June 26, 2018) Seaman Amber Jordan, from Dallas, Texas, center, makes a stopper for a mooring line aboard the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77). Jordan is a professional apprenticeship career track (PACT) Sailor who joined the Navy with aspirations of becoming a hospital corpsman, but now is working toward becoming a boatswain's mate. She loves getting her hands dirty and is proud to take part in a job that has existed since the inception of the Navy. She joined the Navy because she has always felt a need to give back to the world. She plans to depart the Navy at the end of her enlistment and pursue a career as a doctor.
