Force Reconnaissance Marines from the Force Reconnaissance Platoon attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Raid Force conduct a live-fire deck shoot for sustainment aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as ready-response force for any type of contingency, while simultaneously providing a flexible and lethal crisis response force ready to perform a wide range of military operations.

I've been posting US Navy Photos since 2006 and this is the first time I've ever seen photos of an US Navy SSBN entering drydock.





KINGS BAY, Ga. (August 13, 2019) The Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Tennessee (SSBN 734) (Blue) arrives at the Trident Refit Facility (TRF) dry dock at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga., for a maintenance period, August 13.
