Other Post So, how was your day?

Waiting for Milton to hit. I'm NE coast florida, so the worst for me is when it exits to the Atlantic still a cat one, plus rain all today and through tomorrow night. Helena was a big storm too, it knocked out power over here and it hit in the Gulf. Poor Tampa and the beautiful beaches on Siesta Key are going to get wrecked. Hoping for zero events tonight.

Hang on, BeNder! What's going on there is beyond my comprehension - 80MPH wind - 10" of rain - tornados in the midst of the hurricane - flash flooding - millions with no power...

I'm hoping you were well prepped! Steve

From a guy that lives in Typhoon alley, stay safe and dry! Always have a full tank of gas and a back up power supply.

Midweek a storm battered northern France too, nothing as dreadful as what FL went though, hopefully @BeNder could ride the bad boy out with few consequences.

Heard of some friends from Florida since, strong winds and flooding, but broken/fallen trees around St Pete appears to have been fortunately the worse. No lives lost in their neighborhood.

A 900 bill from the lawyer to finalise the title deeds after all this time not what i wanted at this time of the yr ...

She booted the backside out of it when she knew and still wanted to know what was happening ..

Robbing boot

Hope you're hanging in there, Bender. Got some friends running supplies in NC, but could probably run N FL if need be. Let me know.
Thanks Aero, I'm good. Power was off just for a bit. I'm impressed with the linemen working the areas in the path. This morning the governor said as of today, two millions customers are back online. Pretty impressive. They came as far away as California to help out. That America right there.

Also, thanks to all for the concern. 👊

It’s been a full weekend of wallpaper, painting in my place. As a reward I got a not so nice, severe sciatica overnight meaning a crappy sleep to even call it that. Meh, work is done and the flat looks rejuvenated.

Tonight I sketched the totally disheveled Jack…

I’ve got better tools to draw now than what I did few years ago. The persistance is also giving better results and a slight resemblance:

Wallpaper was invented by a divorce lawyer.

All Saints’ Day tomorrow and the typical visit and bringing flowers to the deceased grandparents is done, earlier as usual.

Meaning Day off and coincide with Halloween though not much celebrated around here.

We had a hard freeze 2 nights ago which means our trees did the group leaf dump yesterday - they're pretty well bare now. So somebody who looks a lot like me just spent all morning clearing leaves from the lawn. I love our trees... but I despise our leaves! I got about 90%of them, and that's close enough for RR work. I figure a lot of the remainder will blow onto the neighbor's lawn. That will pay him back somewhat for all his walnut tree leaves on our back lawn.

I took 6 HUGE bags of leaves to the dumpster, and no more work from me today!

Halloween is becoming a non-event around here. We had exactly 6 little goblins last night who made out pretty well since wifey bought way too much candy. Granddaughters loaded up on most of what was left.

Next move - shower and get back into an interesting book a friend gave me.

I lost an hour of sleep this morning. I woke up early already at 5am but the time went back an hour so it was really 4am. I sat there at the computer and had coffee and waited for daylight. Fed the cats an hour early knowing their calendar was also messed up. Sure nuff 3 were an hour late for breakfast, the two little black kittens stay close and aren't much into that wandering. They don't miss any meals. My one little dwarf that almost died before I saved him is a home boy and very thankful. He is fat as a pig now and has long hair where once he had none due to the fleas and his scratching. I call him my Halloween Cat because he has that wild hair sticking out of his ears and his tail has that wild cat look.

A good day for me, got up and drove to the drugstore to pickup my meds, then off a 1/16th of a mile further and shopped at the other dollar store outlet since the one two blocks from home is closing in a few days. The prices were quite reasonable and I did save a bit of money, my cat food was cheaper and refrigerated things also were cheaper. I think I can save enough money to not worry about buying more from the grocery store next to this old dollar store I shopped for a very long time. I will still shop at this grocery store for a few items and the deli where I get nice salads and chicken fingers and taters. I noticed this other dollar store had a pretty good inventory of crock pots and rice cookers and coffee makers so I will probably buy new cooking items so I can once again cook a few meals rather than buy junk food and microwave food. I had a breaker go bad about 3 years ago that fed my wall plugs along my kitchen counter top and the refrigerator. I just use an extension cord to keep the fridge online and then just connect to what ever I need on the counter top. I will probably try to pull this breaker out soon and get a replacement. I know it is bad because I had checked without the use of a multi meter and I could feel the switching not working . I had a light plugged into one of the dead wall plugs so I could watch if it came on from this end of the hallway and front room into the kitchen. I never did see the light come on when I would push that breaker up so I assumed then it was just bad. Now I have a multi meter so I can check it better. At mid day I took my long nap, it was dark at 3 when I woke up due to the cloudy weather all around. The new Gulf storm will track far south of us so we probably won't get any weather from it. Glad about that for sure but I do like a good long rain at night it sure makes sleeping very nice. All in all it was a very good week already knowing we got rid of this bunch of criminals in our government. A complete RED sweep of power, now they have no excuse to not get some changes in place. I remember the last race when the democrats crowed so loud and laughed when we did not make any progress and we got stuck with the same crooks again. Once they started that law fare that was the last straw and really pissed all of us off, everyone got out and voted. Now I hope they keep them out of office for several terms to repair all the damage this biden ass wipe was responsible for.

I always feed birds and squirrels during winter. Temps can become extreme, and I try to help them get by. Off to Tractor Supply I went. 50# of birdseed mixed with sunflower seeds was right at $20. Grabbed a bag - then packages of jerky for my Euro pals - and a bit of dog food.

At the counter I was asked if I'm a vet. Yep! - Back in the day! Seems they have a discount for vets on Nov 11 which turned out to be 17%! The birdseed was $16 and change.

"Thank you for your service!" sez the young lady. "Don't be too hasty - I goofed off every chance I got!" Of course I thanked them profusely. Imagine that - cutting vets a break!

And just for fun - me at age 19. Second tour I was the battalion fuel truck guy - thus the greasy clothes. Picked up the M3 at Graves Registration in Dong Ha for a fast $20 MPC

Respect to the other vets participating here!! Steve
