Sounds like pretty much every book with the word "sniper" in the title...

Sad but true. One of the hardest to complete books of recent memory due to the poor quality. Devil Woman is currently reading a very dry and almost clinical autobiography on a Soviet sniper called Lady Death. So maybe there is some hope!
