This last batch is interesting. The Serbian Army has apparently received its first battery of modernized 2S1 Gvozdika howitzers. Its fire control system has been upgraded and now has the MRSI (Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact) capability.

Over the last year or so, many structural changes in the VS happened, or were announced. First, the Special Brigade has been split into the 63rd Parachute and 72nd Special Operations brigades, and put under the direct command of the General Staff. Then, five new battalion/squadron-level units were said to be in the process of forming. The 111th Infantry in Loznica, to become a part of the First Brigade, the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion, subordinated to the Land Forces Command and armed with BRDM-2MS, the Independent Tank Battalion, armed with donated T-72B1MS MBTs (these two are to be stationed in Niš), the reestablished 353rd Reconnaissance Aviation Squadron, armed with CH-92A and, apparently, Bayraktar UAVs.

Last but not least, a mountain infantry battalion is to be established in Priboj. There hasn't been such a unit in ex-YU countries ever since the Yugoslav People's Army fizzled out of existence. Since a large part of Serbia's territory is covered by terrain which we Serbs call 'vukojebina', loosely translated as Wolvesfucksville (meaning either the place where wolves F***, or, alternatively, where people F*** wolves) such a unit is sorely needed.

Rifle ID?

Here in Russia we call any remote and unpopulated areas as 'ебеня' (jebenia). That means the same as second part in Serb term. :)
If I'm not mistaken, there is also a phrase along the lines of где волки боятся ебать (where wolves are too scared to F***). Beautiful.

The J-22 is still going strong, one of my favorite planes in the world. I wish our IAR-93 would not be museum pieces, but money was tight and there was no need for them :(
And about export?

There is talk about replacing them with SU-25s, Yak-130s or multirole aircraft in the near-to-medium future. They did their job admirably in VRS service in '95 and in Kosovo in '99, both under the conditions of NATO air superiority. Flew low, dropped their payload, and F***ed off sharpish.
