In the years 2019-2020, it was announced that they had signed contracts for the modernization of a total of 200 T-90A tanks to the T-90M Proryw-3 standard. Some of them are to be brand new. This means that the number of contracted T-90M Proriv-3 tanks is currently 230. By 2027, the Russian army is to receive 400 tanks of this type.
The modernized T-90M Proryw-3 main battle tank is the latest development variant of this series, referred to as the 3rd generation T-90. Established in the Ural Construction Office of the Transport and Machine Industry in Niżny Tagile as part of the OKR Proryw program.

The tank received composite armor supplemented with heavy, modular reactive armor type 4S23 Relict. Anticumulative armour were built, thanks to which the protection of the vehicle against APFSDS anti-tank ammunition was increased by up to 50%. In addition, the tank has an electro-optical interference system Shtora-1.

The T-90M Proryw-3 received the 1130-horsepower W-92S2 diesel engine, 125-mm 2A46M-5 cannon, AZ185M2 automatic loading gun system, PNM-T Sosna-U gunner's sight and a panoramic observation device of the commander PKP-T Sokolyi Glaz (God, please, help me - "Hawk Eye" in English, sorry for my problems with translitteration...) . In the the enlarged tower an additional ammunition warehouse for 10 cartridges was placed.
