On September 10, the minehunter ORP Kormoran called at the base of the Swedish Navy in Karlskrona. For the vessel and its crew, it will be the first participation in the large international naval maneuvers of the Northern Coasts in 2021.
The maneuvers will last until September 23, and Sweden is the organizer of this year's edition. NATO, Swedish and Finnish forces participate in them. For ORP Kormoran, the unit introduced into service on November 28, 2017, this is the first event of this type and is the result of the completion of the crew training process - the ship has participated in the history so far, among others in the "Solidarna Belona" exercises, episodes of which took place at national maritime proving grounds.
Currently, a consortium led by the Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. shipyard is executing a contract for the construction and delivery of two twin vessels. The first of them, the future ORP Albatros (602), is to be delivered to the ordering party at the end of November this year. In turn, the future ORP Mewa (603) began the first stage of port trials. All three are to be operated by the 13th Minesweeper Squadron
