Snipers from the "regular" mechanized brigade have .50cals!? Color me impressed. For most other militaries, even the from the 1st world countries this kind of firepower is reserved for the elite of special forces.

In Georgia we also use M82s and Tac-50 in regular units and its not that some units have it and some dont, there is at least one anti-material rifle required for an infantry company.

As the best of my knowledge both of the USMC and US Army sniper branches have access M82A1/M107s which they fielded them in the Iraq and Afghansitan. For other countries using Barrett models in regular sniper units I count that Germany (as G82), Finnland (M95),Norway and Hellenic Marines but not for sure. Also the regular sniper branch of Turkish Gendarmerie had used Phoenix Robar RC-50 and McMillan TAC-50 rifles during the mid 90s but later replaced them with AI AW models and still have Barrett M82 and M95 models for training purposes.

Well, confirmed hit for Tor is 2230 meters (Afganistan) - info from producer (article in Polish, on 100th anniversary of ZM Tarnow https://www.milmag.pl/news/view?news_id=168&q=)

It's difficult for me to comment on this subject if there is no information about the characteristics of the goal. Which does not preclude the use of the Tor rifle for sniper purposes. Currently, 8,6 mm SAKO TRG M-10 is for long range shooting in the Polish Army.

Some very fresh photos of F-16C No.4047 from Poznan-Krzesiny AFB, commemorating century of Polish Air Force. Letters WX and low-viz RAF roundel below the cockpit refer to WWII 302nd RAF Sq. Raven was a coat-of-arms symbol of both 132 Sq/III Wing in pre-war Poznan and 302 Sq.

IMHO-kicks ass ;)
