Anti Soviet fighters known as "Cursed Soldiers" waged guerrilla warfare against the Soviet Union and the puppet government of Poland backed by the Soviet Union. Many of these fighters previously fought against Germany in WW2 and were former members of the Polish Underground State. They fought until the early 50s.
The girl on the photo was Danuta Siedzikówna "Inka" who was a medic of the partisan group. Her father died in Teheran as soldier of Polish Army, her mother was killed by Gestapo and "Inka" herself was executed by the communists, she was 17 at the time of her death.
