Leipzig class light cruiser Nürnberg in service of the Soviet Navy as Admiral Makarov. After the end of the war, Nürnberg was seized by the Royal Navy and ultimately awarded to the Soviet Union as war reparations. In December 1945, a Soviet crew took over the ship, and the following month took her to Tallinn, where she was renamed Admiral Makarov. She served in the Soviet Navy, first in the 8th Fleet, then as a training cruiser based in Kronstadt. By 1960, she had been broken up for scrap.

Missile tube test aboard USS Kamehameha (SSBN-642). Nice public affairs photos. They date back to August 1965 and were taken from the Vallejo side of the channel.
Can't tell you much about these tests, i.e. why the different colors; how did they pressurize the missile tube, what was the yard measuring, etc.
USN:
Cleveland-class light cruiser USS Santa Fe (CL-60) rolling about 35 degrees to starboard as she rides out typhoon Cobra encountered in the South China Sea, probably on 18-19 December 1944
On 22 November, Santa Fe's task group sortied once again for attacks on Japanese positions in the Philippines, which began three days later. They remained in action off the Philippines until 1 December, when they departed for another period of rest and replenishment at Ulithi.
By mid-month, they had joined the forces supporting the landing on Mindoro. On 18 and 19 December, Typhoon Cobra struck the fleet, sinking destroyers USS Hull, the USS Monaghan, and the USS Spence - low on fuel and thus with less ballast than the rest of the ships, these three destroyers would be stormlost, along with 790 of their crew, after meteorological failures on the part of the US staff led to Admiral Halsey leading TF-38 right into the teeth of a Category 4 typhoon. Santa Fe and other vessels searched for survivors before returning to Ulithi on 24 December.
