On Friday, October 4, 2024, the Swedish company Saab Defense and Security announced that on October 1 it received a second order from the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense for the supply of the MSHORAD (Mobile Short Range Air Defense) mobile short-range air defense system.
The 3rd Infantry Company "Algirdo" Battalion of "Iron Wolf" Mechanised Infantry Brigade (Mechanizuotoji pėstininkų brigada "Geležinis Vilkas") conducted methodical exercises for instructors of MDV units on the topic "Cleaning of trenches". Proving smooth interoperability between Lithuanian Air Force and Standing NATO Mine CounterMeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG1). The Lithuanian Helicopter conducted deck landing exercises succesfully on flagship FGS Werra last week, showcasing precision in confined maritime spaces. The helicopter crew performed personnel winching operations, demonstrating their ability to rapidly deploy or extract individuals in high-risk scenarios.
These exercises are vital for ensuring cooperation between allied forces during joint missions. Training in such real-world conditions improves response times, coordination, and readiness for rescue or combat operations at sea.
