Leclerc tanks during the exercise Iron Spear in Latvia,where the French team won the 1st place out of the 8 nations participating.

The Norwegians came second,followed by the Americans.

Presentation of the "fighter 2020" program of the French army which aims to improve the personal equipment of French soldiers. New rifle,helmet,bulletproof vest,clothes,boots,uniform etc. A total makeover from the minor elements,to the major elements. Not a revolution,but the gear provided to the soldiers was way behind compared with other major NATO armies. Things have improved over the last few years but now it will be on par with the one of our partners.

France is among the few countries that do not have a dedicated military police unit. Instead provost and all others military police related missions are assumed by the French Gendarmerie Nationale. On the French territory,provost missions for the army are are assumed by local Gendarmerie units while there are special divisions for the navy (Gendarmerie Maritime) and the air force. (Gendarmerie de l'Air).

However,many missions devoted to military police units are assumed by several units of the French armed forces. (like the management of prisoners of war)

In foreign garrisons,provost missions are assumed by the Gendarmerie Prévôtale. Detachments are sent alongside the deployed French units.
