French soldiers from the Battlegroup recently took part in UTRIA ASSAULT, an annual winter military expedition in Estonia that sees teams embark on a 36 hour raid through the snowy forest.
19 teams of 4 soldiers from Estonia, France, Belgium, Lithuania and Finland took part in the annual expedition which saw them cover around 90km of snowy and icy terrain. Using their military map reading skills, the expedition covers a vast amount of terrain with numerous checkpoints which test vital military skills, such as intelligence gathering and survival skills in a cold weather environment.
Teams prepare all year long for the challenge, which tests strength, endurance and survival skills in extreme winter conditions.
I’ve grown tired of the politics BS so I’m following more closely these threads now. Good job. To the soldiers first, and the armchair generals we are.
I'm not sure if they are soldiers of the 1er RPIMA. the 1er RPIMA is part of the special forces. so their faces are hidden.
The 1er RPIMA is the equivalent of the British SAS. they have the same history, they were created at the same time.
so for me, they are not soldiers of the 1er RPIMA.
