French weapon instructors training with AK's at Mourmelon camp - December, 2019.
In early December, the 51st Infantry Regiment organised a special course to familiarise instructors going on short or long term missions abroad with AK's assault rifles.

This comprehensive and formal training was a first and was structured around two learning phases:
- the handling of this emblematic rifle (characteristics, assembly/disassembly...)
- shooting (in different circumstances and environments).

The students of the "2me Bataillon" of the Saint-Cyr military academy went through a realistic joint-exercise yesterday. Together with the "Sapeurs Pompiers" and the "Gendarmerie" they tested their reaction to different terror scenarios, such as suicide bombers, knife attacks and ram-raiding cars.
