The paint scheme is a commemorative scheme by air artist Don Spering for the aircraft’s retirement ceremony in 1991, when it served with VMFA-321 “Hell’s Angels” as part of Detachment ‘A’ of Marine Air Group 41, when they transitioned to the F-18.
