A US Navy McDonnell F-4N Phantom II from VF-51 (the "Screaming Eagles") intercepts a Libyan Tupolev Tu-22 "Blinder" over the Mediterranean Sea in April 1977. VF-51 was at this time operating from the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. Shortly after this they would return to the US to transition to flying the F-14.
