McDonnell Douglas RF-4E Phantom II a few weeks before retirement by the JASDF at Hyakuri, Japan

24 January 1962. McDonnell Aircraft Corporation delivered the first F-110A Spectre (F-4C Phantom II) to Colonel Gordon Graham and Colonel George Laven, USAF, at the McDonnell plant at St. Louis, Missouri.
F-4 Phantom FGR.2 XV497 of No 17 Sqn seen at RAF Luqa after arriving for a weekend on the island.
XV497 even served in the Falklands with 1435 Flight, which is the same unit of Faith, Hope & Charity fame. XV497 now resides at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum.
