RF-4C-30-MC "Phantom" II (66-0424 & MSN: 2182/AR) of the 1st Tactical Recon Squadron (TRS),10th Tactical Recon Wing (TRW), in RAF Alconbury, UK. The squadron flew the RF-4C for over 20 years from Alconbury, and from RAF Wethersfield, frequently participating in NATO exercises.

The 501st was Japan's only tactical reconnaissance squadron, and was formed in Matsushima Air Base on December 1st, 1961. On March 9th, 2020, the last training mission on the RF-4E / RF-4EJ aircraft was conducted. On the same day, a retirement ceremony for the RF-4s was held, and the squadron ceased operations. On March 26th, 2020 the unit was officially decommissioned.
