This is the story of a 16 year old school girl, who dared criticize Islam (but neither Muslims or Arabic individuals as people.)

As you could have guessed, she has received assault, rape and death threats online, and is in hiding on advices from the police.

She has even been formally charged for “racial hatred” by a kangaroo court and judge in the region of Lyon.

She was insulted first for being a lesbian before going on her rant, which as Jake says focuses only on the religion and not the followers.

This comes 2 weeks after some humorist on national radio (paid by taxpayers) played for kicks a song he wrote called "Jesus is a fag".

No doubt he chose the correct prophet to make fun of...the one that does'nt cost government extra by providing a police cover 24/24.

Extreme right winger and leader , love Hitler sent to prison.
Now for years prior espoused Nazi crap, anti-Jewish stuff, then gets mouthy about Mosques after the Christchurch shooting. So they lock him up immediately for 2 years and has to wear GPS monitoring for another 2.

I do worry about these stories . There's far more tragic happened online , especially at the teenage demographic but the media pounce on this story . I see nothing but a pyrrhic victory should we " deal with this issue " . A further erosion of freedoms / expressions in the guise of saving us all , not that you had that much in the first place while we ignore the real issues that actually might make a difference .

Look at these white racist law imposers...oh wait

Attacks on Christianity such as in France for the Olympics? Okay. Attacks on Islam instead at Olympics? Not okay.

If any of you meet one of those types, ask them why one is okay but not the other. Make them see the error in using a straw man as an argument to be hypocrites with. And if that fails because stuck on stupid is intent on being obtuse, take them to task and dare them to now do the same with Islam or they really are a cowardly fool.

I mean if one is going to denounce just one religion or a few but skips one or two, lol then we know what's going on here. Expose them for this too. Put them up against the wall in debate where they are stuck. But do it rationally and with powerful words yet civil is discussion.

Typical "Christian" knee jerk reaction, automatically assuming that 12 people sitting at a long table is a depiction of the last supper,
FFS has the Church subliminally brainwashed so many over the centuries.
I saw this and made no connection to Da Vincis painting at all.

"
The reference is not the Supper of Leonard de Vinci but the Feast of the Gods by Jan Harmensz van Biljert, painted around 1635 and preserved at the Magnin Museum in Dijon.
The gods of Olympus celebrate the marriage of Theses and Pelaeus; at the center of the table, it is not Christ, but Crowned Apollo and Bacchus-Dionysus (Philippe Catherine) is lying in the foreground."

You got it wrong, lol.

Seems like the "Feast of Dionysus" is a poor attempt at PR stunt.

Sure the singer really looks like Dionysus, and starting from there it might have been a call out to the "Feast of Dionysus", but the whole scene behind him is clearly a representation of the "Last Supper".

Even the "center piece" described the thing as gay new testament and herself as gay jesus.

Connaught, the right thing to do here to is to apologize for your knee jerk reaction to my taking the obvious to task for, miscalling it, and assuming I was Christian.

I offer an apology to you if, you feel my post was aimed personally at you, but, my comment was in reference to all in sundry comments posted online about this "insult" to Christianity when to me it appeared to be a knee jerk reaction, by thousands of snowflakes all over the world, funny, many of them stay stum when the recent scandals that have hit the Catholic Church for example sex scandals, pedophilia, selling children out of wedlock etc.. etc..

They have a right to feel insulted by the obvious whom were indeed insulting them. which I find as funny calling them snowflakes when many in other religious communities were seeing the very same thing and showing support for their Christian neighbors, friends, etc.

Are you ashiest here? At war with Christians in general? Asking because there's a confirmation bias with you. Do you feel the same about Islam too or is this only against Christianity?

I'm also asking because this thread was about speaking against Islam and I mentioned how cowardly it was to attack Christianity but not Islam at such a grand audience of reach. That's when you came out with your knee jerking snowflake reaction. I'm not trying to insult you but am pointing out the projection.

We can blame it on @Redav for digging up a thread from 2020 I’d guess in post #8.

The organizers of the opening ceremony did apologize if some/many Catholics felt insulted. So did Philippe Katrine.

Whether it’s sincere or not is onto them, as they initially wanted to provoke and assumed it. The backlash however is there.

Personally I believe a ceremony like that is aimed at 8 billion people, or at least those watching it, not for 11M Parisians or 67M French people, the old adage is we can’t please everyone but ideally this wouldn’t have triggered such a shitstorm.

I am a non practicing catholic my Mother was English Anglican my Father Irish Roman Catholic before they were allowed to wed in 1958 the catholic church bishop in Nottingham forced my Mother to sign a document saying all children would be raised as catholics, she naively ventured the question could not the children be raised in both religions and was told no sign, no wedding.

From 68 the family lived in Ireland there I got to see first hand how intolerant the catholic church could be, personally mistreated because (a) I was born in England, (b) could not give the correct answer on a Monday morning when asked about Sunday mass, when I went to the Christian Brothers school in the local town got the same treatment, so after a while quit school joined the army, they (the military) could force me on mass parade on sundays and holy days but could not make me physically enter the church. Had a priest stop me on the street and demand a salute told him his uniform was different to mine and I did not recognise it. (Irish civilians in 68 and later) would touch the forelock similar to the sign given to the landlords, when meeting a priest.

Then all the scandals started coming out of the wood work, sexual abuse, Mother & Baby homes, illegitimate kids sold off to rich Americans, abuse of young girls in the Religious sister homes where they were used as slave labour, so in all I decided christianity is a sham, all do as I say not as I do mentality.

Since living in Romania I observe a lot similar with the Romanian Orthodox Church, its all about the money, of course not all priests are bad I give respect to those whom I deem deserve not because he is a priest.

I have no tolerance of Islam either many are manipulated sheep fooled by their religious leaders who crave power.
