If Russia is anything near Japan's or Korea's detention system for people deemed "insane", and I would expect it to be actually worse, it could very well be she got "cured".

These places are... something else entirely.

In the West, serious and real offenders tend to plead insanity in order to get a lighter sentence or an accommodated one. In Asian countries, at least Korea and Japan as far as I know, that's something that is strongly advised against.

A headline with a positive outcome for a change:

In all seriousness, though good on him for standing up for his sister against his father, I hope he will manage to live with it without feeling too much guilt.
Or rather, I hope for him he is able to understand what he did was the right thing to do and that he shouldn't feel bad (hard to put that thing into words) about having his father arrested.

Also, let's hope there won't be any retaliation against him for what he did.
 
The 1st step is to kick the extreme left out of power. Once this is done, and freedom of speech is restored, the poorly-educated Coran-toting fanatics will be quickly exposed for the laughable dimwits they are. We must put some trust into the strength of our civilization and our values. And the rise of the conservative movement in the West may, hopefully, be just the first step.
 
Kicking the extreme left out of power might be the first step, but that's quite the huge one.

The ideology is so deeply rooted in society, it may very well be impossible to remove. Or with a very long, focused and concerted effort.

Though that would be nice, I doubt it can be done.

And one has to contemplate what will take its place. The extreme left does not exist in a vacuum, it is a byproduct of "something".
