The United States Air Force deployed Colombia, this Sunday, November 8, strategic B-52 Stratofortress bombers that have the capacity to launch nuclear weapons, in order to participate in a joint exercise with Kfir aircraft of the Colombian Air Force.

Over the restricted airspace of the Palanquero Air Base (Puerto Salgar, Cundinamarca), several Kfir COA air superiority planes will simulate a defense mission against an attack on a strategic target, interoperating with the USAF bombers effectively.

KFIR NG for the Colombian Air Force???



Representatives of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) have revealed at the Paris International Airshow 2019 that they are developing the modernized Kfir NG (Next Generation) fighter, which they consider an alternative for the Colombian Air Force (FAC). According to an article in Jane's, the 22 Kfir fighters that IAI modernized for the FAC have made a good impression on the ranks of the armed institution, which took another step forward and acquired six ELM-2052 active electronic scanning (AESA) radars in 2018. , plus three likely in 2018, to deploy better aerial target detection capabilities.
