Soldiers from 36 Canadian Brigade Group conducted their validation training as part of Exercise STEADY ROBUR 24 at 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown from June 16 to 26. Ex SR24 focused on level 2 – 3 collective training validation for the Force Protection Platoon in support of the expansion of NATO forward presence in Europe.

Halifax class frigates HMCS Toronto (FFH 333) and HMCS Halifax (FFH 330) alongside in HMC Dockyard, Halifax on 2 September 2018. With their masts covered in scaffolding, both ships are in various stages of upgrading radar and sensor equipment.

RCAF CH-146 Griffon helicopters were recently transported aboard a CC-177 Globemaster III to Riga, Latvia, where they will be reassembled and flown to Camp Adazi, the headquarters of the Canadian-led multinational battle group. The deployment is in support of the CAF's largest mission, Operation Reassurance.

To maintain and augment an air detachment in Eastern Europe and respond to domestic operations, 1 Wing developed plans to manage its personnel and helicopters.

Four Canadian CH-146 Griffons were delivered to Latvia in late July to provide logistical support to the multinational NATO brigade from Riga Airport.
