In western countries it's SA brown shirts using violence against peaceful protesters we don't like so freedom is declared a bad thing.
Don't expect anything from Canadian politicians. If they wanted to get rid of him they would have voted him out in a motion of no confidence already for even daring to mention invoking martial law. Even if his own party supports him he's still leading a minority government. The only way the dictator can be unseated is at gunpoint, and with the typical level of collaboration of police and military that isn't going to happen.
